About Me
Welcome to my COMM 211 blog!
My name is Molly and I live in Michigan. I am working on a Liberal Studies degree that includes Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, and Writing. My goal is to become an author/coach who helps others help themselves heal from emotional challenges. I have seen for myself that our thoughts, beliefs, and environment lead to our dis-ease. My hope is to help people help themselves live fuller and freer lives. This particular course touches on the various platforms I foresee myself using to reach my audience in the future and while it is a little intimidating to come out of my shell I am excited to see the benefits of doing the work for this course.
My hobbies include fiber arts, love of flowers and animals, and playing Dungeons and Dragons. Many years ago I taught myself to knit and crochet. I taught knitting classes at a local yarn store and wrote and published three original knitting patterns. Recently, as a graduation present to myself, I began weaving on a tabletop loom. A couple of years ago I planted a butterfly and hummingbird flower garden. Mostly butterflies and giant bumblebees visit the garden, but the rare hummingbird has been seen once or twice a year. The flowers attracted deer, bunnies, groundhogs and skunks as well. It has been an adventure learning to switch from feeling victimized when the deer and groundhog eat the flowers to feeling joy and happiness. As my partner reminded me often I did plant their favorite food, what did I expect? Dungeons and Dragons is a bucket list item that I am geeked to be playing. I have much to learn still but it is a great joy to learn how to manage all of the data and nuances that go into playing an adventure with your friends.
